Crowns, or more commonly
know as “caps”, are utilized to restore a tooth
to its normal shape and size while providing added strength
and improved appearance. Crowns are commonly implemented when
a tooth has been damaged by decay or accident, or is badly
stained or shaped. A crown covers your tooth completely. The
crown, or “cap”, fits snugly at the gum and protects
what remains of the natural tooth. Crowns should last between
5-8 years. However, with proper oral hygiene the life of crowns
can be extended to a much longer period of time. |
